FAA control towers were thereby permitted to comply with the Alternate Standard rather than the General Industry standard for means of egress requirements established in Subpart E. Department of Transportation's (DOT's) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) signed an agreement with OSHA for an Alternate Standard for Fire Safety in Airport Traffic Control Towers along with a schedule for compliance progress. This Instruction applies solely to federal agency worksites and does not impact State Plan programs.
